Torrisdale Murray Grey Meat at Farmers Market
December 08/11 - Torrisdale Murray Grey meat is now being sold at the Southern Farmers Market, held every Sunday in Invercargill. Bred from Torrisdale genetics the meat is being sold under the Ballyhooley Beef brand and there is already significant interest in the premium product even after the first week at the market.
Torrisdale spring calving about to start
August 29/11. Spring calving at Torrisdale is about to start with all cows and heifers looking good as the 1 Sept start date draws near. Fingers crossed for a better time and result than we had last year!!! so NO more snow storms please.
Spring Calving Finished.
October 26/11. The spring calving season has just finished at Torrisdale and it's gone really well. All the new calves are looking good and everything now gearing up for the mating season which will start in about a month. Yearling bull sales now also complete. Bring on summer!
Mating Season Underway
December 07/11. The 2011 mating season began at Torrisdale 23 November. This year we are concentrating on utilising our new bull, Melaleuca Entertainer E39 via AI and also some promising yearlings via the natural process. At time of writing all is going to plan. We hope it continues that way.

AI PROGRAMME FINISHED
January 05/12 - AI programme completed pre Xmas and cows now with follow up bull. At this stage looks like the take has been very good. >85%. fingers crossed that the good rate continues.

ANOTHER FIRST IN NZ FOR TORRISDALE MURRAY GREY STUD.
June 09/12 - The Studs 9th Annual Bull Sale was successfully held in May via PGG Wrightson Agonline using the Helmsmen selling system. Last years 2011 sale was the first time a bull sale had been conducted via Agonline and this year the refinement to the Helmsmen provided added value and interest for clients and supporters.
